Jersey Cape Kayak Fishing Mission Statement
Jersey Cape Kayak Fishing was created in 2010 for those of us that live in the southern half of NJ and for those that would like to be kept in the loop within this specific area. Southern NJ has a lot to offer the kayak fishing community and the word is beginning to spread. From the spring Black Drum and Striped Bass run in May/June, to the heart stopping action of the Cape May RIPS in the fall. We also enjoy outstanding Fluke and Tautog action almost all year. A major fishing destination for years, southern NJ is quickly becoming a sought after location for kayak fishing enthusiasts.
JCKF is currently in its infancy; our primary goal is to promote the sport of kayak fishing. We regularly plan events, contests, and gatherings throughout the year in southern NJ. Some of our future plans include; expo’s, family fishing days, workshops, group trips and of course Jamborees! JCKF.net is free to join and anyone can post so long as the information is beneficial to the readers and not solely for the purpose of self advertising a business. We also like to keep the forum PG-13.
Our 2nd Annual event, The JCKF Kayak Fishing Jamboree for Charity will be held October 21-23, 2011. This event was born out of the necessity of having a localized kayak only fishing event. We hope that in the years to come that this gathering will continue to grow into an annual festival and expo promoting our sport. Kayak anglers from Massachusetts, Connecticut, Maryland, New York, Pennsylvania, Delaware and New Jersey all joined in for the fun in the first year! 100% of the proceeds raised at this event go to Charity.
Our preferred accommodations are usually some form of camping or shared housing. This helps keep the costs down for everyone involved and promotes the camaraderie already found within the kayak community. We have borrowed this proven concept from events such as Jamaica Bay NY, NEKF Salem Mass and many others.
